Aligning With What You Want Before Cultural Conditioning

Posted

Have you turned on the news lately? Based on what I'm seeing and what I've seen throughout my life media wise we are being conditioned to constantly live in a heightened state of anxiety/fear/negativity. It's not a message of hope, expansiveness, logic, control, and action to fix whatever it is. It's not a message of OK here's the problem, now what can we do about it to make it better. It's a message of division. That's why I wanted to write this post today about someone that I think could help us solve some of the societal conditioning issue we are currently facing.

I've been listening to a lot of Bob Proctor lately. "Bob Proctor is a Canadian self-help author and philosopher. He is best known for his New York Times best-selling book You Were Born Rich and a contributor to the film The Secret (Wikipedia)." I used to think Bob Proctor was a little bit out there when I saw him in The Secret, but the more I listen to him the more I think his lessons are fundamental.

Before learning any techniques or tactics there is mindset. Bob Proctor teaches people they must align with what they want before actually seeing it in reality. For example do you consume negative media news all the time, get highly emotional when interacting with people on social media? Guess what you are aligning with negativity intellectually and most importantly emotionally. Guess what happens when you do this? Yup, you guessed it you get more negativity welcomed into your life.

On the flip side do you want a better world, more friends, high paying job, beautiful spouse, nice house, getting out of your neighborhood? Spend some time imagining what you would do as this person, how would you act, what kinds of feelings would you feel. The most important thing is to emotionally embody what you think this person would be like. This is what the word "aligning" means in the Bob Proctor world. Once aligned you energetically attract these people, things, and situations into your life.

Obviously this takes practice, but the principles are obviously true. Just think about the old saying "you are the sum of your five closest friends." We take on patterns from the people around us, the media we consume, flip this around. Condition yourself before you are conditioned. You are not the product of your circumstances.
